* Frank Unger bought the farm in 1906 from the Johnson Families.

* The original farm was 160 acres and cost $3,700.

* Only German was spoken at home when Frank and his wife, Hermina, raised their six children.

* Frank grew 19 varieties of grapes on the farm as a hobby.

* After Frank's death in 1934, his second eldest son, Bill, began running the farm at age 15.

* In 1941, William married Margie. They had a log house built on the farm, just south of the main farm house.
